Grand Rapids' First Artist
							Lawrence Carmichael Earle was the first artist
							that Grand Rapids could call its own. 
							Lawrence resided in Grand Rapids as a child of 11
							or 12 years old in 1856 until about 1868 when he left
							for formal art instruction. He returned in 1909 to live in
							Grand Rapids until his death in 1921. 
							This site is a result of several years of research
							of his art work, his nuclear & extended family and his
							ancestry.
